Recently Jerry posted a question about his T23's apparently-disfunctional lower cardbus slot.
Here's the answer: update the BIOS.
This is a known problem with the T23, fixed in the last 2 BIOS versions.
BTW, I discovered this while tuning my wife's new T23. This machine came with a "Thinkpad Update" utility
that, like Windows Update, is supposed to see if your machine needs new drivers. I ran this on Ann's machine,
it first updated itself, then said her machine was up-to-date. I then took a look at the IBM website anyway,
just in case. (Skeptical? Moi?) Sure enough, several bits - including her BIOS - are out of date. So much
for this utility!
