Hello,

I have a difficult problem that is bothering me a lot. Whenever I run the
ThinkPad Configuration Utility and press the LCD button and then press the
advanced button, an error message pops up saying, "The device driver is not
installed. Please install the device driver first." And, of course, I have
re-installed the video device driver at least a dozen times and it doesn't
do any good.

This problem happens whether I'm using my external monitor or my LCD screen.
I cannot get rid of this error message!

I have an IBM ThinkPad 600E connected to a ThinkPad 600 Selectabase. My
external monitor is an HP Ultra VGA 1280 D2818A plugged into the
Selectabase.

The machine type is 2645. The model number is 55U. The serial number is
78-MF558.

I am running the latest software BIOS upgrade with the latest video driver
and the latest ThinkPad Configuration Utility program.

I am running on Windows NT 4.0 with the latest service pack and latest
security patches.

For the ThinkPad Configuration Utility settings, I have the LCD+CRT button
pressed, presentation mode disabled, and brightness (battery operation) set
to normal.

I have already initialized my BIOS, like IBM told me. I went to the IBM
ThinkPad 600 discussion area and no one answered my question. I have been
web surfing endlessly to find a solution, but no cigar.

How can solve this problem?
