Hello,
I picked up a Memorex BBQ 4x2x6 USB unit some time ago and
used it on my 600e. It worked okay.
The actual drive is a Memorex 4x2x24 IDE. The Cable has a dongle at one
end that plugs into a three row 'D' connector on the drive box.
The dongle has a USB-to-IDE converter in it.
Although it is slow, for backups and the like it is not too bad. The only
problem is the lack of linux support but it may have improved since I
got the drive.

This would appear to be suitable for older machines (570's, 600's, etc.)
that have a USB port. Probably not a good choice if you burn a lot of CD's,
as it is a 4 speed drive, which I think is the fastest speed available for
old-style USB.
Can't tell from the site whether they are new units or refurbs. Someone was
asking about this type of hardware not long ago.
