I just got a used A21m for my brother-in-law from an auction on e-bay. The machine (I don't have it in front of me now) has 64M ram and W98 and the Intel mPCI Ethernet/Modem. This is the fourth A2x machine I have purchased and have had no problems with any but this one.
I purchased a 128M upgrade from Crucial for this machine and installed as dual boot Win2000 and Win98. Shortly after setting it up, I started getting page faults or BSOD's or simply hung machine in Win2000. It appeared to be a problem with RAM so I swapped the 128M Crucial with 128M IBM I had in one of the other A2x machines I have. That seemed to work so I called Crucial and they sent me a new 128M to replace the first one. I had similar problems with it so I put the IBM 128M back in and it seemed to work. The second 128M from Crucial is also not working in the other A2x I have so I think there is a problem there.
My question is, now that the A21m for my brother-in-law is in his hands and he and his wife are trying to use it, it is starting to have the same problems as before. The machine is still under warranty until sometime in May, 2002. Does it sound like an EZ-Serve problem?
What are you're thought?
