Go to the 3Com web site and download new copies of the driver set.

Then go to Start -> Control Panel -> Modem and delete all modem
references after you determine which com port was being used.
Then go to Start -> Control Panel -> System and look at the devices list
to be sure the modem has been removed.

Then install the drivers, being sure that the modem is installed to the
correct Com port, and note to which director or subdirectory the drivers
are installed.

Then reboot the machine and let it find the modem, after which it will
find the drivers.

If this doesn't work, you probably have a bad modem... the
3Com/USRobotics/Megaherz X-Jack XJ1506 pcmcia modem has a fairly high
failure rate...
