Hi,
Are you sure the problem is with the memory chips? Sounds to me like maybe
an intermittent problem with the motherboard or a hardware issue.
Does the only problem you're having exist in the 1 machine? I missed part
of this.

Subject: Re: [A21m] Memory Upgrade problem
After the second Crucial DIMM seemed to fail in the new machine, I swapped
it with a an IBM 128M DIMM I had in the A20m that was working flawlessly.
Once I put the IBM DIMM in the new machine, it appeared to function OK for a
while (maybe a day) but then started giving the same problems as the Crucial
ones.
I ran the Simmtest tests on the A20m with the Crucial DIMM installed. The
tests tested all 192M of RAM and I left it to run overnight. No errors!!
I suppose I will have to get the A21m (new machine) back from my in-laws so
I can do more serious analysis and possibly talk to EZ-Serve. Oh well, a
little tarnish on my IT reputation won't hurt too much. :-)

It sounds like you got the wrong kind of DIMM from
Crucial. If the problem follows it I would get rid of
it and try another brand. Did you say you had problems
with the new machine and another kind of memory?
It's possible for it to damage the DIMM but probably
not if it still indicates the correct amount of RAM
and passes the Simmtest tests. When you tested it, did
it run tests on all of it and not just the first 640K?
