I came across your posting on a random search. I have recently
purchased one of those 466Mhz Intel Celeron MMC-1 processors from Ebay and
am attempting to put it into a Thinkpad 770E that was previously a 266. I
was wondering if you have made any headway on trying to make it work? A
friend of mine and I are attempting to do it and we think there is actually
something in the BIOS saying it can't go beyond 400MHz. It's been rather
slow going since we both work quite a bit and are having to do this on our
spare time and reading the BIOS is rather lengthy and boring. If you have
any insight on this and could spread the knowledge it would be truly
appreciated.
