FWIW, this week compusa has a bunch of unadvertised specials, including very good prices on compact flash:

(You need to print the ad, bring it with you, then argue with the guy at the counter:-)
We've had some discussion recently about bootability of CF on newer Thinkpads. Here's
another data point.
I bought their own-brand (really, Toshiba)128MB CF ($40), plugged it into my Antec PC card adapter,
and it showed up immediately on my TP560X (as usual, no formatting necessary), running W98SE.
At a command prompt I ran SYS: to transfer system files, shut down, set the machine to "boot to PCMCIA",
restarted, and it booted right up to the flash card.
Now, I plugged the same CF/adapter into my wife's T23, and tried to tell that machine's BIOS to boot to pcmcia.
None of the options seem to work (I don't understand all of them - eg, what's an "Intel Boot Assistant" slot? - but I tried it
anyway, without success).
Any suggestions? Or is the T23 just less capable than the 560X in this regard?
