Good local time!
I have got TP701C japaneese.
BIOS version 3N
diagnostics version 1G
80486DX4/75, 24Mb RAM, 710Mb HDD,
Windows 95 OSR2 (4.00.950B) russian.
My external floppy disk drive (IBM part number 10H4075) doesn't work in
Windows ("Device not ready" or "Disk unformatted") so it can't read neither
1.44 nor 760 K floppy disks. Still, it works in DOS perfectly.
I tried different settings of IRQ,DMA for floppy disk controller, I tried to
alter settings in BIOS but no result.
Currently it is DMA:2, IRQ:6, I/O: 3f0-3f5, 3f7, 7f0-7f5.
There are no special patches for floppy disks on IBM, the only things I
found are:
- Enable mode 3 for floppy disk program for japaneese TP's (but I need not
mode 3, and it's all in japan so I can't read)
- BIOS update for 3O, but I'm not sure it helps and I don't want to
reinstall everything.
- Windows 95 setup diskette.
Also I've heared that japaneese models have some features not common for
other TP's.
Could anybody please help with the subject?
I guess int13h works with floppy disk with no problems, perhaps there is
some hack for windows?
Excuse me for boring you with so old stuff and thatnk you for any
information in advance!
