Are you using the mouse/keyboard adapter cable? As I recall, you
can stick a mouse directly in the PS2 port on the notebook, but for
an external keyboard you need an adapter.
I can't find the IBM Part # in a quick look, but it's very
expensive. I have one, it works.
You can also use StarTech's "6 in. IBM PS/2 Keyboard/Mouse
Y-Splitter Cable" (StarTech.com ID: KYC1MF). I have one of these,
it also works. U$6/C$8.
