Thanks for everyone's feedback. I wound up taking the old battery to my
local Batteries Plus store, where they provided a replacement, attached the
IBM wires to it, and packaged the whole thing up in some new heatshrink for
a total of $5+tax. Saved me the trouble of digging out the ol' soldering
iron. :)
