I have a pretty weird (and horrendous) problem with my T23 for which
some of you may have some ideas that will help.

The other day, I installed a new piece of software that asked me to
reboot. I don't usually bother, but it was at the end of the day, so I
did. At reboot, the system complained that
/windows/system32/config/system was corrupt. I used the install CD,
booted to recover, and found three system files (system, system.LOG, and
system.??? [I don't remember the ???]). Looking at the dates, I copied
system.??? Over system. When I rebooted, I found that the system thought
it was partially installed and started to continue the install! I
stopped it, then booted to recover, again. It asked for the
Administrator password. When I entered it, it said it was the wrong
password. I used every password that I have ever used on the machine.
None of them worked.

And that is where I am now.

I am planning on installing a disk caddy in the Ultrabay of another T,
put the HDD in there, and move files around.

However, if you have an alternative that you think might work, I'd love
to hear it. I'm still waiting for the caddy (should be here tomorrow or
Thursday).

Thanks!
ssh
