[600]drive caddy?

I have a stupid question about the TP600 I'm patching together. I
understand that I need a drive caddy for a hard drive. Is something like
this necessary for the CD-ROM drive? Or can I just slide Ultrabay devices
in there on their own?
(I have a system with no drives at the moment)
