My 1400/1500 iseries Type 2621 will not power on by battery alone anymore. I can only power it on if it's plugged into an outlet and using AC. I recently applied updates to the Windows 98 operating system but I can't imagine that this has changed something to make it unable to operate off battery anymore. Also, I did have the laptop plugged into the electric outlet for about a week and I did read in the manual that "the over-current protective function in the battery pack might be activated." The remedy is to turn the computer off for several hours and try it again. I did this but the computer still will not operate off battery and yet if I look at the battery charge, it states 98% charged. What do you recommend? Thanks.
