A CL2 speced Dimm will work fine. It will simply be read as a CL3
( slower ).
If IBM finally figured out the pc 100 /pc 133 spec, then even better.
( The 600 is a wonderfull example of them not understanding it ! )
If the bios is done correctly, then a Cl2 speced chip will actually be used
in Cl2 mode.
Note the difference is rather small, under 3 % or so.

All the info the Bios needs to set the timing registers is provided by the
SPD chip on the Dimm module.
Sadly most Bios writers are lazy . And a few SPD ships are not programmed
correctly.
