my experience with 701C's and larger than 6.4gig travelstars is it just
WON'T boot, period..
newer or different drives MAY have changed all this..
and i don't have anything less than a 40gig to try right now..

also - - - - - got distracted and forgot...

uhmm.. i would be interested if anyone can get a 701 or ANY pre-770 series
thinkpad to boot from a 6.4gig or larger..
especially without disk manager and other bios overlays and tweaks..
