Hi,
I have a ThinkPad iSeries 1300 - Model 1171-370. We bought it about 2
years ago and my daughter uses it. Up until now we have had no
problems with it.
Now we are unable to get dial tone. She uses AOL, and is getting a
"The Modem has reported that there is no dial tone" message.
I have a TP600, and it works fine from the same phone cord and line, so
I know there aren't any problems there.
I went to Control Panel Settings, and checked the modem. It is a
Lucent Technologies Soft Modem ANR, on Com 3. (I know, "Get a real
modem." <g>)
Clicking on Properties, Diagnostics and "Query Modem" and everything
looks OK. Although I do see
AT#CLS=? COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED
I went so far as to go to the IBM website, download the modem drivers
(which were actually the same, BTW) delete the existing driver and
install the new one, but no luck.
Can anyone make a suggestion for ways to solve this? If it would be
helpful for me to post the log from the diagnostics, I can do that.
Thank You.
