the trackpoint is kaput..!
a new keyboard will be needed..
call 800-388-7080 with the FRU number of the keyboard..
you can find this info in the HMM available on the IBM site..
go to support and follow directions there for inding the correct hardware
manual..
the diagnostics should be found in the usual way for an older thinkpad..
hold the F1 key down while powering the thinkpad ON..
once you're in easy setup it will be obvious how to get to the diag.
screen..
BUT i don't think there is a trackpoint test included..
