I don't know if this is the common error with these boards, but on one of my replacement boards, which was a "refurbished" (done by 3rd party) IBM original, you could clearly see that all condensators were replaced. If you are comfortable with soldering and have a steady hand, it might be worth it to try and replace those. If you have the equipment, it might be a good idea to check them before you remove them though. Your mileage may vary...
