(tp390x) track point and mouse

How can I set up a 390X so that an attached mouse and the track point are
available at the same time. Currently when I plug a mouse into the PS2 port
the track point is disabled, or seems to be anyway. I looked at the thinkpad
configuration utility and the track point is enabled.
