one part of this problem is that ps2 ports are *powered*. you can kill
'em with an analog kvm switch, too, especially a *cheap* one.

the Digital Multia machines and a couple of hte 486-era Dell servers were
particularly vulnerable to this problem, escalating it to mythological
status :)
