Hello all,

My main battery up and died the other day. No warning, just woke out
of hibernation with only the ultralimbay batt holding a charge.

I will say that the cover hadn't been closed all the way, so it
hadn't spun down like I thought it had, and it was pretty warm near
the main batt compartment.

I downloaded the battery tester/utility from IBM's website, but
trying to run it only produces a 'integer error div/0', so I can't
even test it.

But here's the kooky question - and I'm sure it's been asked before:

I notice that the ultraslimbay batts go for a lot less than main batts on ebay.

Has anyone been brave or curious enough to crack the batt cases to
see if they both have the same battery configuration?

Could one conceivably save some money simply by buying an
ultraslimbay batt and switching the innards with a main batt and also
keep the ultralimbay open for a CD ROM, or perhaps another
ultraslimbay battery?

I'm handy with an X-acto knife, and I happen to have both types of
batteries here ...

I'm just wondering if anyone has already pursued this idea before I
take a whack at it.

- Tae
