Oliver:
Something interesting and something that I would like to point out.
LiOn batteries are not designed to have a constant charge applied to them, so in the
current Thinkpad that I own (A22p) I can look at the 'Fuel' program and watch the
battery charge drop to about 95% and then watch the battery recharge to 100%. With the
600E that I gave to my wife, the cycle starts at about 98%. This will cause the
battery to burn out faster.
So, the question that I have is: Was the discharge/recharge followed by a 'pulled'
battery or was the battery left in while you ran the system from 'Mains' power? If so,
this may be why your count appears to be low. The factor is to see how long the
battery lasted after purchase. And the battery type that I have in the system is
02K7018 and has lasted over two years before displaying the "Blinking Orange" light
syndrome. Looks like this battery was brand new when I bought the unit from IBM.
