First of all, many thanks to everyone who gave advice on laptop cases and
power supplies. This list provided an amazing wealth of information - I've
never seen anything to match it.
Second, here's a more difficult question:
I'm delighted with my 600X, but I wonder if there's any way to get VESA
full-screen text modes (132x60, etc.) out of the NeoMagic video chip? The
chip supports VESA graphics modes very nicely, even under Windows XP, but
apparently doesn't support VESA text modes that provide 132x43, 132x50, or
132x60 characters per line. I've tried installing the UNIVBE driver in
SciTech Display Doctor 6.53, but it says it doesn't recognize the chip, and
doesn't help?
Is there any TSR or other device that adds VESA text modes to the NeoMagic
chip? (BTW, am I right in thinking that the ATI chip on the T-series
ThinkPads have VESA text support built in?)
Thanks in advance for any information.
