However, at least for the 600E, all memory manufacturers' sites
(that I've seen) state that the maximum piece you can put in is
128 MB, but on this list we know that (certain) 256 MB pieces
work. If you believed the manufacturers and IBM, you'd top out
your 600E at 288 MB, but the real maximum is 544 MB !
So the original poster was quite right to look here first,
though he would find the answer faster by examining in the
archives (accessible via google, for example).
