Oh, a Security screw! Why didn't you say so!
Actually I was referring to getting a philips screw.
I've worked on several 600's and never seen one that
came with any sort of screw so I usually put in a
philips since they are the type commonly available.
There isn't a coin anywhere on earth that can be used
on a screw that small. They would have to get a small
screwdriver at least, which would involve stopping at
Radio Shack or the hardware store during lunch break.
If you want more security you can still get an allen
screw at any place that repairs Compaqs, since they
are used for assembly. Send me your mailing address
and I'll send you one. They are actually Torx head
screws so you will need to pick up a T-10 bit to use
it.
You can get those at any hardware store too but so can
anybody else. For the ultimate security you can get a
special high security screw that has a Torx head with
a pin in the center of the hole so a normal Torx bit
won't fit, you need the special one with a hole in the
center. Those screws are available at shops suppling
specialty fasteners to hobbyists and inventors but you
can still get the bits at any hardware store!
