Plus, there are two different "2 pin" standards - for example, while running a conference in Italy last June we needed to scrape up a bunch of special adapters for the German overhead projectors.

You can buy a full set of plug converters in the travel section of any reasonable department store, or at Radio Shack. BTW, RS sells a great little travel power converter which has all kinds of plug adapters 'built in' - useful for those electronic apps where your power brick isn't already 220V-ready.
