Fans and heatsinks for Athlon are comparable to P4 (go read the reviews, like
at Tom's Hardware). The P4 includes a heatspreader ontop of the CPU, Athlon
doesn't. So the installation of the heatsink can be a bit more touchy on the
Athlon with very cheap heatsinks. In the recent heatsink/fan roundup at Tom's
hardware the Cooltech was one of the quietest rated. NewEgg sells them for $7
each. I've used several of them, all are nearly silent.

Portable Athlon has no heat or power problems, go read the reviews.

500mhz the fastest? Sony VAIO PCG-FXA63 Notebook (1.4 GHz Athlon XP 1600+,
256 MB SDRAM, 20 GB hard drive) $1400 at Amazon.
