Hello,
i'm trying to get my 3con 589d-combo pcmcia network working on my
thinkpad 730te.
but if i try to install it under Windows 95 (the install of 95 incl.
pcmcia drivers was no problem) it hung up every time it tries to set the
ip adress.
(seems to be a conflict between the drivers and win95 which should work
according to the 3com informations).
then i've tried to install windows 98 which works also without any
problems (pen services 2.0, etc) (only a few space problems but i've
delete some files of the setup from the hdd after i've done the first
setup steps).
but win98 does not accept the pcmcia drivers (from basterfield.com)
which are designed for win95. sometimes it accepts them, it even
recognizes the 3com but then it wants to restart and reports just a
problem with the pcmcia adapter.
does anyone know where to get win98 suited drivers for the pcmcia adapter?
and i want to try to install linux on it. but i have not the floppy
drive so i cannot boot from disk and install it.
it's not possible to do it the same way as with windows9x because i cant
copy the setup files on hdd.
has anyone information / tips how to this. i've have not found something
interesting about this topic via google.
Thanks in advance.
