Hello,

Try adding the following to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file to get MSCDEX.EXE
working on your ThinkPad:

   MSCDEX.EXE /D:PCMCD001 /E: /M:10

The /D:PCMCD001 is the name of the CD-ROM drive (specified in the
PCMCD20X.SYS device driver line in the CONFIG.SYS file).

The /E option tells MSCDEX to use expanded memory if it is available
(e.g., you are loading EMM386.EXE or some other expanded memory
manager).

The /M:10 option creates a buffer in memory for the CD-ROM. I
believe each "unit" is 1.5KB, so specifying a value of 10 means
15KB will be allocated for buffering.

Here is the URL for a Microsoft Knowledge Base article explaining
all the options for MSCDEX.EXE:

Aryeh Goretsky
