Go into EZSetup and set the BOOT order as CD, FDD, HD1, then initialize the
machine and re-boot.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS installed and any "special" files for
Windows. (Which flavor are you running?)

Sometimes on the 600E's if a device isn't listed in the boot configuration the
machine, and therefore the OS, has trouble seeing it.

Sounds like it's a software/OS problem more than a hardware problem and I doubt
you'd get much comfort from EZServe.
