Wildly off-topic and I apologize, but Computer Surplus is offering some Compaq
M700 Armadas for a reasonable price. This is one of the few offerings from other
manufacturers that I equate with the 600's build quality.

PII 400MHz, 14.1" XGA TFT, 10GB HD with an external USB CD/RW for $599.95:

They take PC100 memory and max out at 512MB.

I know $600 isn't a barn-burner price for a PII 400MHz machine, but this is a
nice machine for the price.
