Hello,

If the IBM OS/2 for Windows is Version 3.0 I would go with
that. You need Windows 3.1 or Windows 3.11. Do not import
settings from windows 95, NT, and later OS. OS/2 will import
settings without complaint but it will not work.

As for Version 2.11 I ran it but had some issues. This
was in the pre-Version 3.0 days. Version 3.0 and 4.0 (Warp)
are better from the hardware support end and had versions
that supported using TCP/IP. I suspect that you can download
drivers from the IBM web site now to solve the hardware support.
I would download the latest service pack as well. There are
a number of web sites and ftp sites available to get programs
and updates.

Subject: [OT] IBM OS/2 and IBM AntiVirus for free

Hello,

I just went by computer surplus store OEM Parts in Colorado Springs,
CO USA today and noticed they had about a dozen boxes of IBM OS/2
v2.11 and IBM OS/2 for Windows and IBM AntiVirus on a table marked
"free" outside their store.

Although both are obsolete if someone wanted to learn about the
OS/2 operating system and anti-virus software under OS/2 this would
be a good way of getting started.

Regards,
