this 'thread' has been reminding me of the rolls royce philosophy..
i paraphrase - they don't innovate, then use tried and true methods..

finest materials, most comfy place to put your butt, wonderful ambience,
complex suspension system..
however, not the best cornering or fastest through a slalom course or skid
pad.. (i learned this through personal experience!)

Trackpoint.

Butterfly Keyboard.

Transnote.

Thinkpads were never #1 in performance, but you have to give IBM some credit
for innovation, and of course their ergonomics have always been second to
none.
