nope, the 701 HDD caddy only covers the IDE pins and NOT the drive select
pins..
to upgrade to a new spec HDD just don't use the small shorting jumper now
present on the older spec 340, 540 or 720meg drive..

mounting holes are different, but this is of little concern..

besides i can still get new (aftermarket) HDD caddys for the 701 with
'universal' holes..

yes, i have or can get new 32meg parts..

yes, a T-1 for the four screws across the front..

be careful when disassembling the machine, be VERY careful removing the
memory door as the two tiny latches break easily..

the keyboard, once the screws are removed, slides backward a quarter inch
and then lifts upward..

uhmm, thats about it..
