Hi Folks,
I just took delivery of an A31p (XP Pro) and an R31 (XP Home) and am
having one heck of a miserable time configuring XP Home on the R31 to print
to a printer on a Win98 machine.
Networking the A31p with Win98 was fairly painless using a Linksys
BEFSX41. Both machines share files as expected and the A31p can use the
printer on the Win98 machine without any problems. Adding the R31 into the
loop went smoothly with one exception: the R31 sees, but cannot access, the
printer on the Win98 machine. File and disk sharing works as expected
between all three machines.
If this rings a specific bell to anyone I'd appreciate a tip. Other
wise, I guess I'll fiddle with the R31 until it works... either that or buy
my wife her own printer (or a Mac) ;^)
*** A note to the list owner: I saw that the list changed servers and
there seems to be a bit of addressing chaos in the eMail headers. I noticed
there isn't a "Reply-To:" field in the eMail header(s) that specifies the
list address. The messages that DO have one specify individuals and not the
list.
