Well, yes and no.
From my testing, the 8.<sumpin> gig drive that came with the 770ED is able to
handle a 7MB/sec transfer rate if you left it as it came with a giant C:
partition under W98. This is just enough for a video stream if the computer
were able to encode everything at the full frame-rate. However, windoze has
its share of hiccoughs which then cause dropped frames. The dropped frames
end up giving the encoder fits which cause even more dropped frames. It seems
to me that the video encoder works just fine at smaller (teleconferencing over
V.32 modems) resolutions, ditto the sound card. But if you want to record
VHS-quality (320*240) or better video, you're going to have to defer the sound
recording for later and sync it up with the vid at that point.
