That's not really true - the 486100 and the P83 could polug into the
original socket-there was a spec for an "overdrive" socket, but it neer
really came to pass, processors just moved forward too fast.
I have upgraded many 486 systems to DX100 and P83. If it boots, it works is
the general rule
