Fascinating! (And I should have said that this is with Windows XP). But
the problem also sometimes seems to occur at initial powerup - at least
I think it remember it occurring then. Could that be an OS problem?
A knowledgeable member of the list sent me a private message suggesting
that I "look for loose or broken high voltage wires from the DC to DC
inverter board to the LCD." That sounds worth pursuing, but I'm not yet
ready to open up a 600X by myself, I think...!
