Target is selling the Mikeysoft wirless KIT for
$100 with a $20 rebate !!
this includes the router toy and either a USB thingie or a pcmcia thingie .
Update the router as soon as you get it .
USB is usefull for a desktop ( of course) and will have a better antena and
the option to move it around a lot more than a pcmcia card stuck in your
laptop. It a big pain if you actually do want to use in on a non-stationary
laptop.
;-}
wireless pci is much less desirable ...
They tend to work very poorly since the antena is "always " being blocked by
the pc.
Access Points, unless the include the bridging option (many don't ) are
almost pointless for a home network.
Because of pricing games, the "kitchen sinks" are cheaper and do so much
more.
Go over to www.practicallynetworked.com for all the info .
..peter..
Who does a lot of wireless stuff ...also ..;-}
All the prices you quote were after rebate...but I did not see the pci card
being $0 .
how did that happen ?
