Thanks for the information. The loss of the modem doesn't bother me, since it's a WinModem
and unusable under my operating system (Linux). I'm already using a PC card for the modem.
Since I only have a single PC card slot, this is a major factor in my decision to check out
the Cisco mini-PCI card. I'll order one and give it a shot!
I have it on pretty good authority that the Cisco mini-PCI cards from the Cisco Aironet
1200 access point are identical to those sold to be used by IBM and others in laptops. The
access point cards are significantly less expensive, so I'm going to go this route.
