My 600E (26455BU) went to EasyServe a week ago for a) bad
blocks on the hard drive (hard drive was replaced), b) non-
functioning DVD drive (DVD drive was replaced), and c) intermittent
backlight failure when on battery power only (running it now for the
first time on battery only -- the backlight failed again. Argh!).
So, with only a few weeks warrany left, I need to call EasyServe
again and tell them they ignored the intermittent backlight failure
(until today I didn't have a functioning battery to test it with). I am
frusrated that they ignored this; it makes me think that this must
be some sort of high-priced failure (system board or ?) and they
hoped I'd ignore it til past warranty.
So two questions, the more hopeful one first a) is there something
really easy that could account for this intermittent failure that I
could do and fix, and b) if I do need to call them again, I'd like to be
a little more armed with some diagnoses -- could this be a system
board, screen cable, or what??
Thanks for any assistance, and happy holidays.
