I recently updated my TP770X to include a 6X IBM
DVD Player (OEM from Matshita SR-8171).

My TP770X has the following:
- 320 MB of RAM
- 300Mhz PII CPU
- 14.1" LCD with 4MB of VRAM
- Windows 98SE
- DirectX 8.1

I have been trying SW-based DVD Players to compare
their overall performance with the Margi DVD-to-GO
card.

The original IBM DVDExpress (OEM'ed from MediaMatics)
did not work very well even with all of the
updated IBM drivers.

SuperDVD Player

This player worked well; No video or audio problems.
However, the free download will request that you
buy the SW every 3 minutes.

Win98SE Player

This is a very simple SW player that came
with Win98SE and will be installed if you have
a DVD drive installed. However, the Win98SE
player requires the Audio and Video Codecs that are
are included with Commercial SW DVD Players.

Solution

1. Load SuperDVD Player (to use the Audio & Video Codecs).
   Do NOT play the DVD

2. Load Win98SE DVD Player
   Play the DVD

3. No requests to register SuperDVD software
