After the return trip from EasyServe, and some good suggestions
from listers about "screen blanking," one issue yet remains -- the
DVD drive.
It doesn't play DVD's.
a) Putting a DVD in the drive simply causes the drive to sputter
and the drive light blinks and then stays lit. DVD player (both DVD
Express -- latest version/upgrade -- and the Win98/2000 DVD
player) report "No disc in drive." (Sometimes Mediamatics tells me
the disk in the drive and offers to try to format it ????)
b) This occurs under both Win98 and Win2000
c) The drive does work for data cd's (in DOS, Win98 and 2000), as
well as for audio CD's.
Any ideas, or did EasyServe send me another bum DVD drive?
