I was able to get the Margi DTG to work with
my TP770X and Windows 98.
I have a TP770X with the following:
- 14.1 LCD and 4Mb of VRAM
- PII 300Mhz CPU
- 6X DVD (OEM by Matshita)
- 320 MB of RAM
- NO DEVA
- Windows 98SE
- DirectX 8.1
- Latest IBM Drivers for Trident Cyber9397DVD
Here is what worked for me:
1. The latest IBM ThinkPad 770X/Z Video Driver (TRD9397D):
<http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/DSHY-3ZFU6Q.html>
2. Enabling the Trident Cyber9397DVD Video Adapter
for Zoomed Video:
<http://www.yoko.com.tw/vpm.htm>
3. Updating Windows 98SE to DirectX 8.1:
<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=F70
A3D7C-FEAC-4D9A-A803-278021061FEC>
4. Installing the latest Margi DTG MCI Drivers Windows 95/98:
<http://www.margi.com/support/dtg_download.htm>
5. Enabling DMA for the DVD Unit in the Windows 98
Other insights:
A. I have a blue line on the right side of the picture on the LCD display
only;
It does not show up on the television
B. The Margi DTG WDM Drivers for Windows 98 "almost" work;
But there is some jitters / stutters on the video display
C. Margi still supplies support for the card
Good Luck,
Steve
