I have a DVD drive for my TP 600. I have to use a Margi 'DVD-to-go' card as
I only have a 266 Mhz Pentium processor, which is a bit slow for DVD. It
works fine, though the DVD player that you have to install with the Margi
driver is a bit temparomental. However, Windows 2K comes with it's own DVD
player which I think is much better.
Note the DVD drive for the TP600 series is not the same as the one for later
TP models (ie the Ultrabay 8x) and they are not compatible.
You might get a Margicard on eBay. I bought a factory-reconditioned card
from Margi (http://www.margi.com/) a year ago and am very happy with it. It
was a lot cheaper than a brand new one and I can't tell the difference!
