A question for the O.P.:
Is it _always_ constant? I noticed the same thing with my T21 (running
Linux), but it's only when the screen isn't running at full brightness
(either manually lowered w/ fn-End or when running on battery power).
At full brightness on AC power, the sound isn't there. I assume it's
something related to the "dimmer" circuit for the backlight...
