First thing I would do is crack the case again and reseat all the cables.

If it comes to that, go to a good electronics store (not Radio Shack), where
you should be able to find circuit repair pens (from the same companies that
make conducting epoxy). (You're in the UK - I used to buy this kind of
stuff from a place called Combined Precision Components, or CPC, in
Preston.)
