Thanks for the useful advice. Reseating the keyboard cable did the
trick. I hadn't fully pushed in the right plunger/clip around the
keyboard cable. Actually, I had pushed it in, but as I found out this
time by playing with it, when I push in the left clip, the right one
popped out, so this time I pushed them in simultaneously. Just a
warning in case others get caught by the same problem.
