Um.... I'm going to have to disagree about the screws. There are
several places in a ThinkPad where the use once screws are used,
and for a reason. They deform and "squish", making a tight connection
so they won't easily come apart.

Ever notice why ThinkPads are in general, better built? One of
the reaons is that these screws exist. Laptops get jossled, bounced
and vibrated constantly as they are carried around. Just as a car
will rattle after a while, laptops will start to do that to. If something
sensitive gets loose, troubles can happen...

I have some of them for the few times I've had to go into units.
In a pinch, you can of course use any screw that is mechanically
compatible. But for long-term seating, the special screws are the
way to go. They do cost extra, so IBM would not use them unless
there was a reason.
